A mesh mash…..

….of things that make me happy. When I get something new, it usually takes trips around the house until it finds the perfect place to rest. Sometimes I get it right the first time but generally I have to experiment. Do you do this, too?

This red enamel shelf in my kitchen and the top of the bookcase under it seems to be a starting point for everything new that comes in to the house.

Before Christmas I had purchased a set of 4 Rooster plates from Francie at “The Scented Cottage”. I love them and know they will be all over before I decide where they will go. And, my painting arrived, yesterday from “WhimsyTwo” It is framed so beautifully. I think it is so sweet beside the old fashioned pedestal with it’s own ceramic pear.

Roosters and Pears

Everyone already knows I have an obsession with roosters…..although not every rooster comes home with me. Yesterday, on a “stocking up” shopping trip…..my husband kept pointing out one rooster after another and they just didn’t float my boat……so, I am picky on what “fowl” come into my home 🙂 Donna’s little rooster painting, that I spoke of previously, was just the perfect example of what I really like.

What I haven’t shared thus far is I have always loved pears….in fact, they were my first love. A few examples of my stash….

Now for my latest purchase from Donna’s Etsy Shop “WhimsyTwo”. She had just listed it but it had to me mine…….

I am a happy woman…….now I better get some clothing alterations done to replenish my bank account. 🙂

Magical Little Pieces of Art

I have always admired people that are gifted with the talent of drawing and painting. It is completely beyond any knowledge I possess on how one looks at something and can recreate it on paper and canvas. Amazing!

One artist that I am bit obsessed with right now is Donna. You can find her at her blog “Donna’s Art” and also at her Etsy store “Whimsytwo”.

Let me share the 5 little paintings I have purchased from her. Four were gifts for others and one was for me.

This one was for my beautiful daughter who will be making me a grandma this summer 🙂

This one was for son. We hiked “Hawk Mountain” this September and had a wonderful time.

The Topiary went to stepson and fiancee. They just purchased an older victorian era home in a gorgeous small town that evokes thoughts of ivy and beautiful gardens.

Mr. Hare went to my step daughter in Maine. She is a creative spirit and likes to write children’s books in her spare time.

And, finally, the one that sits on my windowsill and makes me smile everyday…..drum roll, please…..
